HFP FAMILIES

Did I every tell you I was a violinist? True story. Well, there is a violinist by the name of Shinichi Suzuki and I once heard a quote from him that has always stuck with me. He said: “Children learn to smile from their parents.” I can totally see that this is absolutely true! I cherished the examples of joy and positivity my own parents gave me. Now, as a photographer, this quote has even more meaning. Before meeting new clients or arriving at a shoot, there is always that bit of nervous excitement and energy. Will the weather work out? Will they be relaxed and fun? What if I miss that perfect shot?? So I was excited when Julia reached out to me on my last trip to Olympia after seeing my work with my previous awesome client, who is Julia’s Facebook friend. I was even more excited when we agreed to meet in the lovely Nisqually in Washington. Everything about Nisqually is quietly striking. When we finally met, my pre-shoot jitters were immediately put at ease. I was happy to see them bright, beaming, coordinating and ready to go! I love love love it when a location and a family just seem to have been made for each other. Adorable. And those smiles? Perfection! You can absolutely tell that the lucky little boy has learned some really wonderful smiles from two really wonderful parents. Little Lucas was darling from the get-go. Babies make the best accessories, don’t they? He was so smiley and patient throughout the session. But eventually basic needs caught up and little man was ready for some food! Being the photographer that I am, I couldn’t resist going for one last set up with him (he’s just so dang cute!) but nope! I get it Little Lucas. I get hangry too, I just don’t look as precious at it. So done. Hilarious! Moral of this story is this. SMILE! They’re contagious they say and you never know what your little ones will pick up on, or how a smile will brighten someone’s day. Thank you, I had fun Wilson family! Take care of Olympia until I get back.
